Dr. Heaton is a top general surgeon with expertise in a wide variety of surgeries including hernias of all types, abdominal reconstruction, gallbladder, thyroid, and more. No matter what the procedure, Dr. Heaton believes in a compassionate approach to patients and always does his best to ensure they understand the process completely. A self-proclaimed conservative surgeon, he only operates when it is clearly in the best interest of his patients. Dr. Heaton obtained his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and his surgical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Prior to joining St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Dr. Heaton has been performing surgeries in the Treasure Valley since 2013.

I really like Dr. Heaton. He is caring and he takes time to hear what I have to say and explains everything very well to me.
