About David Ryan Ormond

David Ryan Ormond, MD, PhD, FACS, FCNS, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with advanced expertise in brain and spine tumor surgery. He treats both benign and malignant brain tumors, including gliomas, meningiomas, brain metastases, etc., along with tumors of the spine and peripheral nerves. His expertise goes beyond surgical treatment and includes minimally invasive and scalpel-free approaches, such as stereotactic radiosurgery.

Dr. Ormond performs advanced surgical procedures such as minimally invasive and endoscopic brain surgery, awake and asleep brain mapping, image- and fluorescent- guided tumor removal, and complex skull base surgery. His goal is to remove as much tumor as safely possible while protecting brain function and quality of life.

In addition to brain and spine tumors, Dr. Ormond also is an expert in the management of adult and adolescent hydrocephalus, including endoscopic third ventriculostomy. He additionally sees patients with other neurological conditions including hemorrhagic stroke, arteriovenous malformation, traumatic brain injury, degenerative and traumatic spine pathologies, and general neurosurgery.

With more than a decade of experience, Dr. Ormond serves as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and leads a comprehensive Brain Tumor Program. He is widely recognized for his research and innovation in neuro-oncology. Patients value his clear communication, compassionate care, and commitment to highly specialized, personalized treatment.
