Regan Hansen, MD

A native of Utah, Dr. Regan Hansen is part of the St. Joseph Regional Medical Group’s Orthopedics department. He completed his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University, where he was active in football and received All-Western Athletic Conference honors. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, graduating in 1994. He then completed his residency training at the prestigious Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Hansen specializes in robotic total joint reconstruction of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He performs superior, posterior, and anterior total hip arthroplasty, which does not require cutting muscle. He also offers minimally invasive total knee replacement using a midvastus approach with no incision into the quadriceps tendon, allowing for earlier recovery. For this procedure, he utilizes Mako® robotics, a technology that uses CT imaging to create a patient-specific surgical map for the knee. His expertise in total joint reconstruction allows him to perform a high volume of joint replacement surgeries each year.

In addition to joint reconstruction, Dr. Hansen enjoys treating sports-related injuries. He frequently performs arthroscopic knee surgery, arthroscopic shoulder rotator cuff repair, and open procedures, including reverse total shoulder replacement.

Dr. Hansen is currently licensed in Idaho and Washington.
